Israeli Attorney General Urges Supreme Court to Let Next Government Decide on October 7 Massacre Inquiry
Israeli Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara responded to petitions submitted to the Supreme Court demanding the establishment of a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 massacre. She acknowledged that such a commission is the appropriate legal mechanism to investigate the events of October 7 and the subsequent war. However, since nearly two years have passed without a government decision and Israel is currently in an election period, she recommended that the matter be deferred to the next government for consideration and decision-making.
