Sephora Collection Cosmetics Launch in Israel with Significant Price Differences

Israeli beauty retailer Glam42 will begin selling Sephora Collection cosmetics in Israel starting Thursday, August 20, under a temporary sales agreement with Sephora. This marks the first time Sephora Collection products are officially available in the Israeli market, though Sephora itself has no plans to open stores in Israel.

A price comparison conducted by Channel 12 News revealed substantial price gaps between Sephora Collection products sold internationally and those offered by Glam42 in Israel. For example, the Best Skin Ever foundation retails for 72 shekels on Sephora UK's website but will be sold for 88 shekels in Israel, a 22% increase. Similarly, the Multi Use Blush is priced 16% higher, and lip gloss and lip plumper products show price hikes of about 33%. Conversely, the Get (Un)Ready makeup set is actually cheaper in Israel by approximately 14% compared to the price on Sephora's UAE site.

Glam42 emphasized that all Sephora Collection products sold in its stores and pop-up locations in Azrieli malls are original items sourced directly from Sephora in France, not outlet or surplus stock. Sephora confirmed the temporary sales agreement but reiterated it has no plans to open physical stores in Israel.

Glam42 is an independent Israeli beauty chain specializing in importing and retailing international beauty brands through physical stores and an online platform. The company indicated that the range of Sephora Collection products available in Israel may expand in the future depending on decisions by the parent company abroad.
