Gadi Eizenkot Criticizes Likud Primary Results as Repeat of October 7 Leadership

Gadi Eizenkot, chairman of the Yisrael party, sharply criticized the results of the Likud primaries on Tuesday, condemning the elected list as essentially unchanged from the Knesset members who served during the October 7 attacks. He accused these politicians of dividing Israeli society and leading the country blindly into its worst national disaster. Eizenkot highlighted that five members of the current cabinet, who were in office before the war, bear responsibility for the severe failures and negligence that occurred. He condemned their refusal to take responsibility, accusing them of clinging to power and enabling mass evasion during wartime.

In related comments, former IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Yair Golan praised the Likud list as "excellent" but criticized its leadership for failing to unite Israel or lead it to victory, stating they are unfit to continue governing the country. Eizenkot concluded by addressing disappointed Likud supporters, offering Yisrael as a trustworthy alternative that promises responsible leadership focused on unity and fighting for Israelis. He pledged that within 70 days, his party would restore Israel to the right path.
