Israeli Commuters Can Claim Hundreds of Shekels Compensation via Rav-Kav Online

The Israeli Ministry of Transportation and Rav-Kav Online have announced a significant financial compensation for public transport users who held monthly subscriptions during the "Roaring Lion" operation period. Eligible commuters can receive refunds amounting to hundreds of shekels, depending on their subscription type. For example, those with a combined monthly free pass including train travel can claim up to 684 shekels in travel credit or up to 480 shekels loaded directly onto their Rav-Kav cards. Users with local-only monthly passes will receive compensation proportional to their contract cost, which may be tens of shekels.

Families with multiple commuters, such as parents and students, can accumulate savings reaching thousands of shekels. The compensation can be claimed through several options: a free daily pass, a significant discount on the next monthly pass purchase, or a stored value credit loaded onto the Rav-Kav card at 70% of the unused days' value, usable indefinitely for future travel.

To claim the refund, users need to place their Rav-Kav card on designated loading stations found in supermarkets, neighborhood stores, and kiosks nationwide. Eligible cards will display a notification with instructions for selecting the compensation method and completing the loading process. Alternatively, refunds can be requested by phone or online via the Rav-Kav website or app. If a card has been replaced, eligibility can be transferred easily to the new card. The compensation offer is valid until the end of 2026, encouraging commuters to collect all household cards and claim their refunds before the new year shopping season begins.
