Trump Leaves Door Open to Supporting Candidate in Israeli Elections

US President Donald Trump was asked whether he would back any candidate in the upcoming Israeli Knesset elections. In an interview with FOX News on Monday, Trump said he believes it is best for him to stay out of Israel's political process at this time. However, he left open the possibility of support, stating, "I may support someone," without specifying any candidate. Previously, in an interview last month, Trump was asked if there was a candidate in Israel better suited than Benjamin Netanyahu to lead the country. He responded that he is not familiar with most of the candidates and therefore refrains from expressing a preference.
