Right-Wing Activist Mordechai David Investigated for Assaulting Left-Wing Protester Amos Doron

Right-wing activist Mordechai David was questioned by police on Monday over allegations of assaulting left-wing protester Amos Doron following a confrontation between the two. The incident occurred amid ongoing legal proceedings against Doron, who faces two separate criminal indictments. One indictment accuses Doron of involvement in arson attacks on recycling bins near the Prime Minister's residence in Jerusalem's Rehavia neighborhood in September 2025. The second indictment charges him with assault and threats against Liran Baruch during a protest in Tel Aviv in June 2026. Both cases remain unresolved in court, and Doron is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Social media footage shows David arriving at the location where Doron was present, with Doron heard calling the police. Doron is also expected to be questioned by police regarding the recent altercation. The first indictment against Doron details a planned arson attack involving multiple locations to create a "ring of fire" near the Prime Minister's residence, causing damage to vegetation, property, and vehicles, and endangering residents. The second indictment alleges that during the Tel Aviv protest, Doron physically assaulted Baruch by kicking and pushing him and threatened him to intimidate and provoke.

The police have requested to extend Doron's detention for the third time. The investigation into the arson case has been described as advancing to a new stage, with Doron and three others charged for their roles.
