The Israeli Cabinet Committee on Security Affairs is set to convene on Wednesday to discuss and likely approve a request from Shmuel Ben Ezra, head of the National Security Council (NSC), to mandate polygraph tests for all NSC employees. This move comes after professional-level NSC staff were denied access to intelligence materials due to lacking the necessary security clearance, which includes passing a polygraph examination. The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) is responsible for administering the polygraph tests. Although Shin Bet's professional teams expressed reservations about the requirement, citing resource and personnel constraints, Shin Bet chief David Zini ultimately approved Ben Ezra's request.
