Israeli Counselor Charged with Sexually Harassing Six Boys in Kibbutz
Eitan Shahar, a 30-year-old counselor at a kibbutz in the Shfela region, has been indicted for sexually harassing six boys in grades 7 and 8 whom he supervised. The indictment, filed on August 16, 2026, at the Central Lod District Court, alleges that Shahar committed indecent acts between 2024 and his arrest. According to the charges, Shahar exposed his genitals to the boys while at the pool or beach and engaged in inappropriate physical contact by pressing against them and rubbing his body against theirs. These actions were reportedly done for sexual arousal, humiliation, or gratification. The case was investigated by the Kiryat Malakhi police station. The prosecution has requested that Shahar remain in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings. To protect the identities of the minors and the kibbutz, a publication ban has been imposed on details that could reveal their identities.
