Sports Instructor Charged with Sexual Abuse of Vulnerable Women in Central Israel
The Central District Prosecutor's Office has filed a disturbing indictment against Gilboa Dahan, a 52-year-old sports instructor from Netanya. Dahan is accused of sexually abusing five helpless female residents at a care facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities during sports lessons and walking groups. The indictment was submitted to the Central District Court in Lod by attorney Tal Gingis Gershon.
According to the indictment, Dahan conducted classes at the facility three times a week. He allegedly exploited his position and proximity to the residents to commit indecent acts on multiple occasions, sometimes even in the presence of staff members. These acts reportedly occurred during routine activities and involved the use of sports equipment.
The prosecution has requested that Dahan be held in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings, citing the risk he poses to public safety, especially to vulnerable populations. The detention request states that Dahan targeted victims he considered "easy prey" because he believed they would be unable to report his actions.
