Israeli Counselor Charged with Sexually Harassing Six Boys in Kibbutz
Eitan Shahar, a 30-year-old counselor at a kibbutz in the Shfela region, has been indicted for sexually harassing six boys in grades 7 and 8 whom he supervised. According to the indictment filed on August 16, 2026, Shahar committed indecent acts between 2024 and his arrest, including exposing his genitals to the boys while at the pool or beach and pressing his body against them. The offenses reportedly occurred during his official duties, such as transporting the minors around the kibbutz or spending time with them at recreational sites. The prosecution stated that Shahar acted for sexual arousal, humiliation, or gratification. The case was investigated by the Kiryat Malakhi police station. Upon filing the indictment at the Central Lod District Court, the prosecution requested that Shahar remain in custody until the legal proceedings conclude. A gag order was imposed to protect the identities of the complainants and the kibbutz involved.
