Israeli Central Elections Committee to Publish Polling Station Turnout Data on Election Day

Noam Solberg, Supreme Court Justice and Chair of the Central Elections Committee, rejected the Likud party's request to reconsider his decision prohibiting party representatives at polling stations from transmitting real-time voter identity information to their parties. The committee clarified that this ruling does not alter election laws close to the voting day. In recent years, committee chairs have questioned the legality of sharing voter identity data during elections. Additionally, Solberg ruled that on election day, the committee will publish turnout rates at regular polling stations at least four times throughout the day. These published figures will not reveal whether any specific individual has voted.
