New Family Plan Offers Unified Funding for All Children's Weddings in Israel

The Central Gemach (interest-free loan fund) in Israel has introduced an innovative family-oriented financial plan designed to help parents prepare for the significant costs of their children's weddings. Instead of opening separate plans for each child, families can now join once and select a funding amount that covers all current and future children. The program offers up to 400,000 shekels per wedding and a grant of up to 24,000 shekels per child.

This new approach addresses a common challenge for large families who previously had to manage multiple individual plans, often leading to missed registrations or forgotten children. With a single monthly contribution, families receive a comprehensive plan that anticipates the entire family's needs. The funding amount is flexible, ranging from 40,000 to 400,000 shekels per wedding, with corresponding fixed monthly payments.

Additionally, the program includes interest-free loans repayable over 100 installments, allowing families to understand their financial commitments upfront. Recognizing that wedding costs rise over time, the plan offers a "growing sum" option, increasing the funding by 2% annually from the first wedding to accommodate inflation and future expenses.

Each family's plan is customized based on the number of children, their ages, monthly payment capacity, and desired funding level. Representatives from the Central Gemach assess these factors to recommend the most suitable plan. This new model aims to simplify financial planning for weddings and provide peace of mind for families facing recurring expenses over many years.
