Former Israel Premier Tech Cyclist Finlay Tarling Dies in Tragic Race Accident at 19

British cyclist Finlay Tarling, who previously rode for the Israeli team Israel Premier Tech, died on August 14, 2026, following a severe accident during the eighth stage of the Vuelta Portugal race. The 19-year-old was involved in a crash between Melgaso and Papa, which led to the immediate suspension of the race and cancellation of the planned podium ceremony as a mark of respect. Tarling, born October 2, 2006, was a promising young Welsh cyclist and the younger brother of Joshua Tarling from the INEOS Grenadiers team.
