Only after the video was released did Gerber realize she appeared alongside 25 other famous figures, including Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Fallon, Natalie Portman, Zoe Kravitz, Sia, Amy Adams, Pedro Pascal, Will Ferrell, Mark Ruffalo, and Cara Delevingne. She found it surprising to see herself in the clip and noted that it remains her first credit on IMDb. Gerber emphasized she had no idea why she was filmed and wanted to clarify that point.

The video, initiated by Gadot to uplift spirits during the early COVID-19 lockdowns, faced harsh criticism from major outlets. The New York Times described it as evidence that "horribleness can still erupt even when no one meets," while The Washington Post called it "insensitive," and A.V. Club labeled it "peak cringe content." In a 2022 InStyle interview, Gadot apologized for the video, admitting it was poorly timed and in bad taste.
