Likud Finalizes Candidate List for Upcoming Primaries Amid Legal Changes

Ahead of the Likud party primaries scheduled for next Monday, the final list of candidates was published on Thursday evening. This announcement follows the withdrawal of a petition to the Supreme Court and a ruling that current Knesset members and ministers cannot run in district slots. Additionally, the party approved extra reserved spots for Israel Katz, Haim Katz, and Gideon Sa'ar.

The finalized national list includes prominent figures such as Amir Ohana, Ze'ev Elkin, Dudi Amsalem, Avichai Boaron, David Bitan, Boaz Bismuth, Eli Cohen, Miki Zohar, Yoav Kish, Miri Regev, and others. The list also features candidates from various sectors, including young members, non-Jewish sector representatives, and candidates with disabilities.

Alongside the national list, the party released district candidates for Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, Dan and Tel Aviv, Negev, Galilee and the Valleys, Coastal Plain, Haifa, and regional councils. Notable district candidates include Mishel Ben Ami, Omri Akunis, Elad Zamir, Shuki Yehoshua Ohana, Eli Alush, and Eyal Eli.

The publication comes amid reports that some Likud MKs are considering defecting to a new party. One Likud MK has already announced they will not participate in the primaries. The party continues to prepare for the upcoming elections with this comprehensive candidate lineup.
