Maccabi Tel Aviv Offers Significant Pay Raise to Center Roman Sorkin

Maccabi Tel Aviv is in advanced negotiations to significantly increase the salary of their center, Roman Sorkin, who currently holds a contract with the club. The initial offer includes a raise of over 60%, proposing a net salary of approximately $1.5 million per season, up from his previous $900,000. This move reflects the club's strong appreciation for Sorkin, who is considered a key player for both the EuroLeague and the Israeli Premier League.

Sorkin, who has been with Maccabi Tel Aviv since 2021, has contributed to three league championships and two cup victories. His current contract runs through the end of the 2028/2029 season. The club aims to keep him as part of a frontcourt lineup that includes Armando Bacot, Daniel Theis, and Shane Hunter.

During the last season, Sorkin averaged 13.5 points per game with shooting percentages of 57% from the field and 34.1% from three-point range, along with 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 22 minutes per game, showing improvement over previous seasons. The final agreement is still being negotiated as Maccabi Tel Aviv looks to finalize its roster for the upcoming season after recently signing Keaton Wallace and Yam Madar.
