Maccabi Tel Aviv Offers Significant Salary Boost to Center Roman Sorkin

Maccabi Tel Aviv is in advanced negotiations to significantly raise the salary of Roman Sorkin, the team's center and a key player for the club. Currently under contract until the end of the 2028/2029 season, Sorkin is expected to receive a salary increase from $900,000 net per season to approximately $1.5 million net, reflecting the club's high regard for him. The talks are ongoing as both sides work to finalize the agreement ahead of the upcoming season.

Sorkin, who has been with Maccabi Tel Aviv since 2021, has been an important contributor to the team, helping secure three league championships and two cups. Last season, he averaged 13.5 points per game with shooting percentages of 57% from the field and 34.1% from three-point range, along with 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in about 23 minutes per game. The club sees him as a cornerstone for both the EuroLeague and the Israeli Premier League campaigns, alongside teammates Armando Bacot, Daniel Teiss, and Shane Hunter.

Maccabi Tel Aviv recently completed its roster by signing Keaton Wallace and Yam Madar, but the contract renewal for Sorkin remains a priority. The club aims to demonstrate its confidence in Sorkin by securing his presence for the foreseeable future as part of its core lineup.
