US Ambassador Condemns Israeli Settler Violence in Palestinian Village of Kusra

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Herzog strongly condemned violent actions by Israeli settlers in the Palestinian village of Kusra in the West Bank. He described the perpetrators as "Israeli terrorists" and called their behavior "bullying" with no justification. The illegal outpost was established over two days ago inside Kusra and was forcibly evacuated by the Israeli military following a request from the US. However, the settlers reestablished the outpost shortly after the evacuation.

Ambassador Herzog stated that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Israeli police intervened at the US's request to remove those responsible for the attacks on Palestinian homes. He called the acts "horrific terror meant to intimidate and harass the family," emphasizing their criminal nature. The IDF responded by reinforcing the area, deploying a regular battalion from the reserves and additional forces to strengthen operational control, as ordered by Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.

The situation remains tense as the settlers continue to challenge the military's efforts to maintain order, prompting increased security measures in the region. The US involvement highlights international concern over settler violence and its impact on Israeli-Palestinian relations.
