US Ambassador Condemns Israeli Settler Violence in Palestinian Village of Kusra

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Herzog condemned violent actions by Israeli settlers in the Palestinian village of Kusra in the West Bank. He described the settlers as terrorists and called their behavior "shocking acts of terror" aimed at intimidating a Palestinian family. The ambassador stated that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and police intervened at the US request to remove the illegal outpost established inside Kusra more than two days ago.

The outpost was initially evacuated by the IDF after nearly two days of refusal by extremist activists to leave, but it was quickly reestablished. In response, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir ordered reinforcement of the area, including deploying a regular battalion from reserve training and placing additional forces on standby for further operations if needed.

The US ambassador emphasized there is no justification for such bullying behavior and labeled the settlers' actions as criminal. The incident highlights ongoing tensions in the West Bank and the challenges faced by Israeli security forces in managing settler violence and maintaining order in Palestinian communities.
