Thousands Attend Funeral of Rebbetzin Rivka Faivelzon, Daughter of Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Faivelzon

Thousands gathered to mourn the passing of Rebbetzin Rivka (Riki) Faivelzon, daughter of the esteemed Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Faivelzon, head of the Petach Olam Yeshiva and a prominent disciple of Rabbi Moshe Shapira. The funeral, held under the leadership of leading Torah scholars, rabbis, and yeshiva heads, was marked by deep sorrow and heartfelt eulogies.

Rabbi Faivelzon delivered a moving eulogy, portraying his daughter as a woman of exceptional wisdom, spiritual depth, and purity in her service to God. He shared how Rivka and her mother committed to a forty-day prayer regimen at the Western Wall, during which she often extended her prayers, seeking more time to connect spiritually. He also recalled her childhood curiosity and lifelong dedication to strengthening faith.

Rivka was known for her sensitivity and close relationships with family, especially her grandfather, bringing joy and vitality to him. She left a lasting impact through her lessons and podcasts, which inspired many with messages of faith and encouragement. Other eulogies from her brother, brother-in-law, and Rabbi Shalom Ber Sorotzkin, head of Ateret Shlomo Yeshiva, highlighted her devotion to family and her central role in their lives.

Rabbi Sorotzkin poignantly described the tragedy as a "Torah scroll immersed in sorrow," reflecting on the profound spiritual questions raised by her sudden passing. He praised Rabbi Faivelzon’s educational and spiritual leadership, likening him to Abraham, who illuminated the world with faith.
