Likud MKs Barred from Running in District Primaries Next Week

Member of Knesset Afif Abed withdrew his petition to the Supreme Court, confirming that Likud MKs will not be allowed to run in district primaries scheduled for next week. Earlier, the Likud party sought immediate clarification from the court regarding the eligibility of MKs to compete in district races. The party warned that without clear rules, the primaries would be postponed by at least two weeks, leaving no time for appeals. The District Court's decision to reject the petition against the Likud's internal court ruling is expected to impact several incumbent MKs registered for the district primaries, including Osher Shekalim, Eti Atiya, Eliyahu Revivo, Shalom Danino, Afif Abed, Nissim Vaturi, and Keti Shitrit.
