Posthumous Collaboration Releases New Song by Israeli Musician Enar Shapira with Esther Rada

A new song by the late Israeli musician and creator Enar Shapira has been released, featuring a collaboration with singer Esther Rada and produced by Uri Shochat. The single, titled "Why Do I Think of You," is the second release from a collaborative album project that brings Shapira's previously unreleased works to life through partnerships with leading Israeli artists. The song was first introduced to audiences during the "Vers" events at the Israel Festival and is now officially available.

The original recording was made by Shapira on his phone shortly after finishing high school, before he had established his home studio. This intimate initial version was preserved and later developed into a trap and R&B track that blends Shapira's youthful, direct perspective with Rada's depth and experience. Rada also contributed new lyrics inspired by Shapira's original text, transforming the solo recording into a true duet that explores themes of love, longing, separation, and moving forward.

Enar Shapira, who died heroically on October 7 after saving many lives during an attack near Re'im, has become a symbol of bravery in Israel. Beyond his military heroism, he was a passionate artist who wrote and composed music reflecting his inner world and social concerns. Since his passing, his family has worked to release his music posthumously, including the albums "Introduction to Anarchism" and "Looking for Love." The current collaborative album is being released gradually, with each single featuring a different Israeli artist alongside Shapira's voice.

Esther Rada expressed honor in helping preserve Shapira's legacy, acknowledging the challenge of producing music with an artist who is no longer alive. She emphasized the balance between respecting the original work and allowing creative freedom, and she is pleased with the outcome and the family's support.
