Man Charged for Threatening and Vandalizing Israeli Media and Justice Ministry Offices

The Israeli State Prosecutor's Office filed charges against 44-year-old Abraham Hadi from Ramat Gan for threatening and vandalizing the offices of Channel 12 News, Haaretz newspaper, Channel 13 News, and the Justice Ministry in Tel Aviv. According to the indictment submitted to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court by attorney Ruth Barkali Dal, Hadi's actions stemmed from his views on the judiciary and certain media outlets. He aimed to intimidate media employees and coerce Channel 12 staff into apologizing for their coverage of the "Sde Teyman" affair.

In late July, Hadi left a threatening letter at Channel 12's offices, warning harm to employees, and subsequently threw two bricks at the glass entrance door. Earlier that month, he had thrown bricks at the glass doors of Channel 12, Haaretz, and the Justice Ministry in four separate incidents to frighten staff. Additionally, in November 2025, he spray-painted a threatening message on a wall opposite Channel 13's offices stating, "The blood of traitors is even more for publication."

After committing these acts, Hadi attempted to destroy evidence by discarding his clothing in the trash. The indictment highlights a rapid and dangerous escalation in his behavior. The prosecution has requested his detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings. He faces charges including extortion by threats, threats, intentional damage, property defacement, and obstruction of justice.
