Father of Nine Meir Turgeman Dies in Fatal Car Crash Near Beit Shemesh Days After Son's Bar Mitzvah
Meir Turgeman, a 42-year-old father of nine from Beit Shemesh, was killed in a deadly car accident on Road 383 near the southern section of Zekharia early Wednesday morning. The tragedy occurred just days after his family celebrated his son's bar mitzvah earlier this week. The crash involved two private vehicles. Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom arrived at the scene and pronounced Turgeman and another man, approximately 40 years old, dead at the site. A woman in her 40s was moderately injured, received initial treatment, and was transported to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. Officers from the Jerusalem district, traffic division, and Border Police secured the scene, managed traffic, and collected preliminary evidence. Paramedics Zuri'el Meyers, Yehoshua Gottlieb, and Shmuel Arieli described the crash as severe, noting that both men were found unconscious with no vital signs. Despite medical efforts, both were declared dead at the scene, while the injured woman was stabilized and evacuated to hospital.
