Israeli Court Frees Tal Yinon Dradik After 38 Days Without Restrictions

After 38 days in detention, the Israeli court ordered the release of Tal Yinon Dradik, who was suspected of abusing a Palestinian, without any restrictive conditions. Judge Amir Shaked accepted the petition from the legal organization Honenu and directed Dradik's immediate release. Attorney Nati Rom expressed satisfaction with the decision, stating that the administrative order against Dradik was issued without proper authority and was therefore invalid, making his detention unjustified. Rom emphasized hopes that judicial decisions will now be respected, allowing Dradik to rebuild his life and family.

Attorney Moshe Polsky also welcomed the court's ruling, noting that Dradik should have been released months earlier. He criticized the state for dragging Dradik through unnecessary legal proceedings and incurring significant taxpayer expenses, asserting that no legal basis existed for the administrative order. Honenu condemned the use of administrative orders exclusively against settlers in Judea and Samaria, calling them a "black flag" on the military commander and the Defense Ministry. The organization urged the commander to cancel all such orders against settlers, highlighting that no other Israeli citizens or free-world populations face similar administrative persecution.
