Israeli Dentist Investigated for Failing to Report Over 10 Million Shekels in Income

The National Unit for Investigations and Combating Crime (Yahalom), together with the Tax Authority's NESA tax officer, is investigating Raad Albaz, a dentist and owner of a dental clinic in Beersheba called "Dr. Albaz." Authorities suspect Albaz failed to report income totaling over 10 million shekels between 2020 and 2025. Analysis of his business bank account revealed deposits far exceeding his tax filings by more than 10 million shekels.

Further investigation showed that in December 2022, Albaz submitted a false asset declaration omitting real estate assets valued at approximately 2.4 million shekels. Additionally, he changed his registered address from Tel Sheva, which qualifies for an 18% tax benefit, to Omer without notifying the authorities, thus retaining the tax benefits improperly.

Following the investigation becoming public, court orders were used to seize documents from Albaz's home and his accountant's office. After the inquiry, Albaz was brought before the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion and released under restrictive conditions. He has not been charged or convicted and maintains the presumption of innocence.
