Southern Israel Dentist Investigated for Over 10 Million Shekels in Tax Fraud
Israeli tax authorities are investigating Raad Albaz, a dentist and owner of the "Dr. Albaz" clinic in Beersheba, on suspicion of significant tax offenses. According to the tax authority, Albaz's business bank account showed deposits far exceeding the amounts he reported between 2020 and 2025, with the discrepancy suspected to be over 10 million shekels.
Further investigation revealed that Albaz submitted a false asset declaration in December 2022, failing to report real estate assets valued at approximately 2.4 million shekels. Additionally, he is suspected of not updating his address after moving from Tel Sheva, which qualifies for an 18% tax benefit, to Omer, thereby potentially evading tax liabilities.
The investigation escalated after a court order authorized the seizure of documents from Albaz's home and his legal representative's office. He was subsequently brought before the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion and released under restrictive conditions. The tax probe is ongoing.
