Tottenham Hotspur recently bid farewell to Israeli player Manor Solomon with a social media post featuring the number "877" next to his name, sparking curiosity among fans. This number is part of a unique club tradition called the "Legacy Number," introduced in October 2023 to honor every player who has made an official senior appearance for the club. The numbering system starts from 1, assigned alphabetically to the lineup of Tottenham's first competitive match in October 1894, and continues chronologically based on each player's debut.

Manor Solomon, who made his official Tottenham debut in August 2023, is officially the 877th player in the club's history to appear for the senior team. This legacy number is incorporated into official club materials, including the inside collar of players' jerseys and farewell graphics, as a tribute to the club's rich history. Notably, Stanley Brigg holds the first legacy number, while another Israeli, Roni Rosenthal, who played in the 1993/94 season, holds number 614.
