Mossad Chief Gofman’s Advisors Linked to Civil Project and Senior Forum Participation

Several advisors appointed by Mossad Chief Roman Gofman were involved in a civilian project and unusually participated in the Mossad’s senior leadership forum, known as Rasha, which is equivalent to the IDF General Staff forum. According to informed sources, these advisors underwent conflict of interest arrangements and security clearance processes. Last week, Gofman dismissed two senior officials from the agency, including the head of the intelligence directorate and the head of the Iran division. This move reportedly caused shock within the Mossad and was linked to the failure of an operation aimed at regime change in Iran. The operation had been led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu alongside former Mossad Chief Dedi Barnea and his deputy, who was then head of the Iran division and has since been removed. A former senior Mossad official criticized the dismissals, stating, "The event does not even rank at the bottom of the Mossad’s value scale." The dismissals and internal turmoil have been described as crossing red lines within the agency.
