Likud Secretariat to Approve Reserved Knesset Seats for Ministers Sa'ar, Katz, and Haim Katz

The Likud party's secretariat is set to approve reserved Knesset list placements for Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and party center chairman Haim Katz. This decision will coincide with reserved slots for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to Likud, Defense Minister Katz's reservation is intended to allow him to focus on security matters without engaging in political activities during this period.

The party announced the move overnight between August 11 and 12, 2026, emphasizing that Katz was expected to be placed near the top of the list regardless. The party's internal court ruled that Katz should be reserved a spot to enable his concentration on defense responsibilities. Sa'ar's placement is part of a coalition agreement with his party, which joined forces with Likud, while Haim Katz's reservation reflects his role as chairman of the party center.

Earlier, businessman Oren Dobronski was assigned the 11th spot on the list. The reserved placements aim to secure key ministerial figures in the upcoming Knesset elections, ensuring their continued political presence while allowing them to prioritize their ministerial duties.
