Likud Secretariat to Approve Reserved Knesset Seats for Ministers Sa'ar, Katz, and Haim Katz
The Likud party's secretariat is set to approve reserved Knesset list placements for Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and party center chairman Haim Katz. This decision will coincide with the reserved spots for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to Likud, Defense Minister Katz's reserved seat is intended to allow him to focus on security matters without political distractions. The party stated that Katz was expected to be near the top of the list regardless, but the party's internal court ruled to reserve his spot to enable his concentration on defense needs. Foreign Minister Sa'ar's placement is part of a coalition agreement between his party and Likud, while Haim Katz's reservation reflects his role as chairman of the party center. Earlier, businessman Oren Dobronski was placed at number 11 on the list. The announcement was made overnight between August 10 and 11, 2026.
