Israel Detects Accelerated Syrian Air Force Reconstruction Amid Regional Support

Israeli security officials have identified a rapid acceleration in the rebuilding of the Syrian Air Force, approximately one year and eight months after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declared it destroyed. The Syrians have begun recruiting new pilots and conducting training exercises using training aircraft and helicopters. Notably, in the past 24 hours, Syria held its first combat drill involving Sukhoi fighter jets in the northern part of the country.

These efforts are taking place under President Ahmad al-Sharaa's regime, with Syria receiving backing from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Russia, France, and other regional countries. Israeli defense authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, especially considering ongoing discussions about a potential future security agreement between Israel and Syria.
