IDF Chief Emphasizes Readiness for Rapid Return to Intense Combat Amid Ongoing Negotiations

IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir convened a high-level operational forum on Monday with senior commanders, including those ranked lieutenant colonel and above, to review the multi-theater operational and intelligence situation. Zamir stressed that despite ongoing political negotiations across various arenas, the IDF maintains a high state of readiness, prepared for immediate return to intense fighting if necessary.

The forum included a strategic discussion on the continuation of the campaign, with commanders presenting case studies and lessons learned from recent operations. Zamir hosted Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), who highlighted the historic and close strategic partnership between the IDF and U.S. military, praising its role in strengthening regional security and stability. Zamir expressed gratitude for this cooperation and presented Cooper with a token of appreciation.

Zamir described the current period as a significant strategic crossroads, emphasizing the IDF's role as a proactive and offensive force engaged in a large, ongoing, multi-front campaign. He noted that the political negotiations underway are a direct result of the IDF's historic achievements since October 7, and stressed the importance of maximizing these gains. He affirmed that the IDF is executing a systematic plan aimed at victory, with successes attributed to all branches including ground, sea, air forces, intelligence, communications, logistics, and administration.

Addressing the army's current interim phase, Zamir underscored the need to maintain unity, vigilance, and readiness against all threats. While acknowledging the necessity for troop rest, he warned against any lapse in alertness, calling for sustained high preparedness and rapid response capability to protect Israeli civilians. He concluded by stating the challenge ahead is not only to preserve achievements but to continue shaping reality, building strength, and ensuring the IDF is ready for any scenario.
