IDF Chief Convenes Special Operational Forum Amid Multiple Security Challenges

On Monday, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir convened a special operational forum with senior commanders ranked lieutenant colonel and above. The meeting aimed to provide a comprehensive multi-theater operational and intelligence update, refine routine procedures, and align all combat commanders across the military.

The forum opened with remarks from Lt. Gen. Zamir, followed by extensive operational and intelligence briefings from Brigadier General Barak Hiram, head of the Operations Division, and Brigadier General Ofir Mizrahi-Rosen, head of the Research Division. Subsequently, commanders of the Northern, Central, and Southern Commands presented detailed multi-theater operational reviews covering activities in various sectors during the first half of 2026.

A significant segment of the forum was dedicated to lessons learned from the campaign against Iran and the ongoing preparedness of Israeli forces for all potential scenarios. The final part of the meeting featured a comprehensive personnel status update within the IDF.

The military stated that a similar dedicated conference will be held in the coming months specifically for reservists and deputy commanders of combat units. This forum reflects the IDF's focus on adapting to evolving security challenges across multiple fronts.
