IDF Chief Emphasizes Immediate Readiness for Intense Combat Amid Ongoing Diplomatic Efforts

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir convened an operational forum on Monday with senior IDF commanders at the rank of lieutenant colonel and above. Zamir stressed that despite ongoing diplomatic negotiations across multiple fronts, the IDF maintains full readiness to resume intense combat operations immediately if necessary. He attributed current diplomatic progress to the IDF's historic achievements on the battlefield and emphasized the need to maximize these gains.

The forum included a comprehensive operational and intelligence review covering various theaters of conflict, with commanders presenting case studies, updates on combat developments, and lessons learned from recent operations. Zamir described Israel as being at a strategic crossroads engaged in a large, ongoing, multi-front campaign. He urged commanders to proactively shape the battlefield through tactical and systemic initiative rather than reacting to events.

Zamir praised the commanders and troops across all branches, including ground forces, navy, air force, intelligence, communications, logistics, and administration, for their significant contributions to changing Israel’s security reality. He acknowledged that the IDF is currently in an interim period but remains vigilant and prepared for any challenges. While allowing troops time to recuperate, Zamir warned against losing alertness, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining high readiness to quickly return to intense fighting and protect Israeli civilians.

The forum also featured U.S. Central Command Commander Admiral Brad Cooper, who reviewed the close partnership between the IDF and the U.S. military. Zamir expressed gratitude for the unprecedented and strategically anchored cooperation between the two armies, presenting Cooper with a token of appreciation.
