IDF Chief Warns of Immediate Return to Combat Amid Iran Tensions

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir held an operational briefing with commanders of the Judea and Samaria Division on Sunday, emphasizing the army's high alert status amid regional developments involving Iran. Present at the meeting were Central Command Chief Major General Avi Blot, Technology and Logistics Branch Head Major General Rami Abudraham, Division Commander Brigadier General Kobi Heller, and regional brigade commanders.

Zamir highlighted the IDF's readiness to respond with significant force to any threats, stating, "We are prepared for an immediate return to combat and will act decisively against anyone who harms us." He referenced recent missile fire toward the Eilat-Aqaba area and confirmed that Israel's air defense systems remain on high alert to protect civilians.

The Chief of Staff praised the troops' efforts in Judea and Samaria for maintaining terrorism incidents at some of the lowest levels in recent years. However, he also addressed the issue of nationalist crime, which he said undermines security and settlement stability. Zamir vowed continued cooperation with the Shin Bet and police to eradicate this phenomenon.

Zamir underscored the strategic importance of the Judea and Samaria front, acknowledging the significant challenges faced by commanders in maintaining high readiness for rapid responses to sudden incidents while ensuring security and stability in the region.
