IDF Chief Zamir Holds Situation Assessment Amid Iran Tensions, Confirms Air Defense Readiness

On Sunday, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir conducted a situation assessment with the Judea and Samaria Division, joined by Central Command Chief Major General Avi Blot, Technology and Logistics Branch Head Major General Rami Abudraham, Judea and Samaria Division Commander Brigadier General Kobi Heller, and regional brigade commanders. The briefing covered the operational situation in the West Bank, counterterrorism efforts, troop activities, and preparations for ongoing missions.

Zamir emphasized the IDF's vigilance regarding developments in Iran, noting the recent rocket fire toward the Eilat-Aqaba area and confirming that Israel's air defense systems remain on high alert to protect civilians. He stated, "We are prepared for an immediate return to combat and will respond forcefully to anyone who harms us."

The Chief of Staff praised the troops for their effective daily counterterrorism operations, which have contributed to a significant decline in terror incidents in Judea and Samaria, now at some of the lowest levels in recent years. He also addressed the issue of nationalist crime, stressing that the IDF will continue working alongside the Shin Bet and police to eradicate this threat, which undermines security and settlement stability.

Despite readiness for multi-front combat, Zamir underscored that Judea and Samaria remains the primary focus of operational activity. He acknowledged the considerable challenges ahead, requiring high alertness for rapid responses to sudden incidents to maintain security and stability in the region.
