Aubrey Plaza Becomes a Mother Following Husband's Death
Actress Aubrey Plaza, known for her roles in "Parks and Recreation" and "The White Lotus," has become a mother for the first time. Close sources confirmed to TMZ that Plaza was seen walking with her newborn daughter in New York City on Sunday. The baby girl, born in late July 2026, is Plaza's first child with actor Christopher Abbott, known for "Girls."
Plaza's pregnancy followed a difficult period in her personal life. She divorced screenwriter Jeff Baena in September 2024 after three years of marriage. Four months later, in January 2025, Baena died by suicide at age 47. It was only after his death that it became public knowledge that the couple had separated. Plaza, 42, and Abbott, 40, have kept their relationship private; although they worked together on two projects years ago, they were first publicly seen as a couple in July 2025. Plaza did not announce her pregnancy herself; People magazine revealed the news in April 2026, followed by paparazzi photos showing her pregnant. Plaza later confirmed the pregnancy in an interview, expressing excitement and surprise.
The article also includes a mental health message encouraging people to support those in crisis and seek professional help, providing contact information for Israeli support services.
