Criminal Lawyer Indicted for Threatening Debtor and Sending Intimidators to His Home

The Central District Prosecutor's Office has filed a serious indictment against a criminal defense lawyer accused of threatening a debtor and sending people to intimidate him at his home, where his 9-year-old son was present. The case dates back to 2025, when the lawyer lent approximately 50,000 shekels in cash to the complainant, who repaid only about 30,000 shekels. Additionally, a relative of the lawyer, who is also a friend of the complainant, lent another 20,000 shekels that remain unpaid.

According to the indictment, after the complainant failed to repay the loans, the lawyer began sending threatening text and voice messages via WhatsApp. The messages included insults and warnings such as "Within an hour, guys will be at your house" and "When they knock on your door, I'm filming with them and giving instructions." The lawyer also contacted two other individuals, asking them to visit the complainant's home to intimidate him into repaying the debt.

The lawyer's conduct was described as intense and brazen, involving multiple threatening messages over several days and the deployment of people to the complainant's residence. The presence of the complainant's young son during these events was noted as an aggravating factor. The defense attorney representing the complainant emphasized the severity of the threats and the lawyer's willingness to use any means to achieve his goals. The indictment charges the lawyer with extortion by threats.
