Nefesh B'Nefesh Marks 100,000th Immigrant from North America to Israel

After 24 years of operation, the organization Nefesh B'Nefesh celebrated the arrival of its 100,000th immigrant from North America. The milestone immigrant is six-year-old Amelia Douglas, who moved from New York to Jerusalem with her parents and two siblings. Amelia will begin first grade in Israel this year. The Douglas family had planned their move for several years, with a turning point during a visit to Israel last summer for friends' wedding, where they decided they wanted their children to grow up and be educated in Israel. They finalized their decision to immigrate just months later. Notably, all three Douglas children are named after fallen IDF soldiers and terror victims, reflecting the family's deep emotional connection to the Israeli people and land. The event was marked by photos of new immigrants disembarking from the plane and highlighted by figures such as Tony Gelbart, Ofir Sofer, and Rabbi Yehoshua Pass. Over its 24 years, Nefesh B'Nefesh has had a significant impact on immigration to Israel, facilitating the aliyah of tens of thousands from North America.
