Students From 11 Yeshivot Enlist in IDF's Kfir Brigade Amid Ongoing Conflict

Students from 11 Hesder yeshivot enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces' Kfir Brigade as part of the July-August 2026 recruitment cycle. The new recruits sang together the song "Tova Ha'aretz Me'od Me'od" during the enlistment ceremony. Among the yeshivot represented were Kochav Yaakov, Avinoam BaEvitar, Derech Chaim in Kiryat Gat, and Kerem in Yavne, alongside Har Bracha, Ramat Hasharon, Ma'ale Ephraim, Ramat Gan, Beit She'an, Orot Yaakov, and Or VaYeshua.

The Kfir Brigade commander addressed the recruits, highlighting the brigade's recent combat experience in Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, and the West Bank. He emphasized the brigade's strength and dedication to continuing its mission in memory of fallen soldiers. The commander wished the new soldiers success, promising guidance and support throughout their service, and acknowledged the challenging and eventful path ahead.

This recruitment cycle began a week ago and will see thousands of young men and women enlist in various IDF units, including combat roles. The enlistment occurs amid ongoing warfare and heightened security challenges across multiple fronts. In the coming weeks, thousands of conscripts will report to recruitment offices nationwide to begin their military service, with many assigned to field combat units operating in active zones.
