Israeli Hesder Yeshiva Students Enlist in Golani and Kfir Brigades Amid Ongoing Conflict

On Monday morning, Hesder yeshiva students from Nir and Orot Shaul enlisted in the Golani Brigade, singing traditional songs 'Ye Zchut Avot' and 'Shechem Echad' during the ceremony. This recruitment is part of the July-August 2026 draft cycle, which began a week ago and will see thousands of young men and women joining various IDF units, including combat roles, in the coming weeks. The enlistment occurs against the backdrop of ongoing warfare and heightened security challenges across multiple fronts.

Simultaneously, on Sunday, students from 11 Hesder yeshivas enlisted in the Kfir Brigade. These included yeshivas such as Kochav Yaakov, Avinoam BaEvitar, Derech Chaim in Kiryat Gat, and Kerem in Yavne, along with others from Har Bracha, Ramat Hasharon, Ma'ale Ephraim, Ramat Gan, Beit She'an, Orot Yaakov, and Or VaYeshuah. The Kfir Brigade commander addressed the new recruits, emphasizing the brigade's combat experience over the past three years in Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, and the West Bank. He highlighted the brigade's strength and dedication to continuing the legacy of fallen soldiers.

The commander assured the recruits of comprehensive training and guidance throughout their service, acknowledging the challenging and eventful path ahead. He expressed confidence in their abilities and welcomed them to the brigade family, wishing them success in their military journey.
