17-Year-Old Arrested in Jaffa with 50 Grams of Suspected Cocaine Following Traffic Violation

A 17-year-old resident of Jaffa was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking after being found with approximately 50 grams of suspected cocaine, police reported on Sunday. The arrest followed a traffic violation committed by the minor at the end of July, which led to a police investigation revealing his alleged involvement in drug dealing across central Israel and the Tel Aviv metropolitan area.

The incident occurred on July 28 late at night when undercover officers from the Tel Aviv Yassam unit spotted the teenager riding a motorcycle on Nes LaGoyim Street in Jaffa, an area with restricted access. Upon stopping him, officers found the suspected cocaine concealed in his clothing.

The suspect was taken to the Jaffa police station for questioning and subsequently detained, with his custody extended multiple times. During the investigation, police identified four separate instances where the minor allegedly sold dangerous drugs to various individuals in the central region. Based on the evidence gathered, prosecutors filed charges against him over the weekend, and the court extended his detention. An indictment is expected to be submitted in the coming days.
