Israeli Singer Detained for Threatening Partner and Breaking Car Window, Released to House Arrest

An Israeli singer suspected of threatening his partner and breaking her car window had his detention extended until 4 p.m. Sunday by the court. After that, he will be released to five days of house arrest. His name will remain undisclosed until 10 a.m. Monday to protect his privacy, as requested by his defense attorney.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. when the partner arrived at the singer's home to announce their breakup. Police reported the singer was found with a bleeding hand. According to police, the singer, who had been sleeping, woke up and told his partner she could not leave without removing her belongings, threatening to throw them out the window. A confrontation ensued, during which the partner tried to leave, but the singer blocked her car and threatened her. The partner, feeling pressured, accidentally hit his leg with the car, after which the singer broke her car window.

The singer claims his threat to harm her was actually a threat to throw her belongings out the window. His lawyer, Ness Ben Natan, emphasized the singer's lack of criminal record and emotional distress, noting the cancellation of a recent concert with thousands of fans caused him significant damage. The lawyer argued for the singer's dignity and requested the name suppression until formal charges might be filed.

The court assessed the singer's danger level as low, justifying the detention extension until the afternoon and subsequent release to house arrest.
