Israeli Singer Efrat Briner Faces Charges of Threats and Vehicle Vandalism Amid Dispute

Israeli singer Efrat Briner was arrested on Saturday night on serious charges including threats and severe damage to a vehicle, following a violent dispute with his partner. The police allege that during the confrontation, Briner smashed the windows of his partner's car and issued severe threats against her. A recording from the incident captures Briner angrily shouting at his partner to leave the area.

According to the investigation and the complaint filed, the altercation arose amid a breakup between the couple. Briner, in his police testimony, claimed he acted in self-defense after his partner allegedly drove her car toward him, hitting his knees, which prompted him to jump onto the vehicle and cause the windows to break. His partner vehemently denies any attempt to run him over and has publicly stated on social media that the accusations are baseless, expressing trust in law enforcement authorities.

Due to the gravity of the allegations and ongoing investigation, the police have requested to extend Briner's detention by five days. A court hearing to decide on the extension is scheduled to begin shortly. Briner's scheduled performance was canceled following his arrest.
