Gadi Eizenkot Condemns Netanyahu Aides for Leaking Classified Info to Qatar

Gadi Eizenkot, leader of the Yisrael party and former IDF Chief of Staff, sharply criticized reports that three of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's advisers leaked classified intelligence to Qatar to implicate Egypt. Eizenkot described the actions as a grave security breach, stating that Qatari agents operated within Israel's most sensitive intelligence circles, endangering Israeli security and its relations with neighboring countries. He emphasized that such revelations should alarm all Israelis and that any reasonable prime minister would have launched an investigation to clarify the situation and ensure loyalty to Israel's interests rather than those of a foreign state.

Eizenkot further condemned Netanyahu for maintaining close ties with a key aide who allegedly received money from Qatar and leaked a dangerous document to the German newspaper Bild, risking the safety of hostages. He accused Netanyahu of fearing the truth and called for an independent, thorough state commission of inquiry to prevent future disasters. Eizenkot pledged that establishing such a commission would be a priority for any future government he helps form, aiming to uncover the causes of what he termed the most serious failure in Israel's history and the ongoing mismanagement of the war effort.
