Disciplinary Tribunal Partially Grants Ironi Tiberias' Request for Evidence in Inducement Case

The Disciplinary Tribunal of the Israeli Football Association issued a ruling on August 9, 2026, regarding Ironi Tiberias' request for additional documents and evidence in the ongoing inducement case against the club. The tribunal partially accepted the request, ordering the association's prosecutor to transcribe audio interrogations provided to Tiberias if they intend to rely on them during the proceedings. However, the tribunal rejected other demands for further investigative materials.

The tribunal clarified that since the audio files are already in Tiberias' possession, the evidence itself is accessible to the club, and the timing of the transcription will not delay the case schedule. Requests for additional investigation materials to support claims of selective enforcement, details about the investigation's initiation, information about the employment of investigator Din Perger, and other documents were denied.

Ironi Tiberias had argued it had not received all evidence and sought the tribunal's intervention to obtain more materials. The tribunal emphasized the defendant's right to receive investigation materials underlying the indictment but noted this right is not absolute and must be relevant to the case. The club failed to present preliminary evidence of improper selective enforcement, so the tribunal saw no reason to provide information from other cases. Regarding the investigation's start, the tribunal ruled that the complainant's identity and complaint submission details are currently irrelevant since the indictment reflects the investigation's outcome.

Concerning investigator Din Perger, the tribunal stated that his employment terms are irrelevant but allowed Tiberias to question him and raise related arguments in their closing statements. The tribunal also warned against turning document review into an extensive "fishing expedition" that would hinder case progress. Nonetheless, the selective enforcement claim remains reserved for Tiberias' closing arguments if developments warrant it.

The tribunal confirmed that all other components of its August 5, 2026 decision remain in effect. Ironi Tiberias is permitted to submit its response to the indictment by August 23, 2026.
