Ronen Tzur Predicts Gadi Eisenkot Will Be Israel’s Next Prime Minister

In a heated political discussion on Sunday on Radio 103FM with hosts Amichai Attali and Gideon Oko, strategic adviser Ronen Tzur made a blunt prediction about Israel’s next leader. He said with confidence that Gadi Eisenkot will become the next prime minister of Israel.

Tzur argued that Eisenkot enters the race without the baggage, resentment, and accumulated hostility that veteran politicians carry after years in public life. He said that, in his view, Eisenkot now has exactly the public profile needed to win trust, because he is a former IDF chief of staff, a resident of the periphery, of Mizrahi origin, and the father of a bereaved family that paid the heaviest price.

He also dismissed efforts to run a negative campaign against Eisenkot, saying they are doomed to fail. Tzur mocked attempts by Netanyahu supporters to apply the same tactics used successfully against other candidates in the past, and sharply criticized those attacking Eisenkot’s speaking ability or stutter.

Tzur further said comparisons between Eisenkot and Benjamin Netanyahu, especially over Netanyahu’s fluent English, now look “grotesque” and ridiculous. He added that this English was not enough for Israel on October 7, implying such attacks will not help Eisenkot’s opponents.
