Retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter Predicts Gadi Eizenkot as Next Israeli Prime Minister

In newly released recordings aired on Channel 13, retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter revealed his political stance and forecasted a likely defeat for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in upcoming elections. Winter stated, "If elections were held tomorrow, Gadi Eizenkot would be prime minister with the support of Mansour Abbas." He expressed concern over the current right-wing government's challenges, particularly in dealing with the ultra-Orthodox community, and noted the difficulty leaders like Itamar Ben-Gvir, Bezalel Smotrich, Shas, and Netanyahu face in regaining trust from certain voter segments.

He also mentioned ongoing political negotiations, referencing that Netanyahu secured an alliance with Smotrich and Ben-Gvir just two hours before the candidate list deadline, urging patience in the process.

Additionally, Winter commented on the recent dismissal of Central Command Chief Avi Blot by Defense Minister Yoav Kitz, calling the manner of Blot's removal "a severe blow to public trust." He emphasized the importance of authority and responsibility, noting that Blot was a key figure in advancing sovereignty and protecting settlements in the West Bank. Winter criticized the decision to fire Blot live on air, stating that such actions undermine public confidence and that proper procedures should be followed.
