Iranian Official Says Strait of Hormuz Will Remain Closed Unless US Changes Behavior
Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, declared that the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened unless the United States alters its conduct toward Iran. He specified that this change means the US must cease threatening Iran and end its wars and aggression against Tehran and its allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, and Iraq. Zolqadr emphasized that the US should lift the naval blockade, withdraw its naval and air forces from Iran's vicinity, pay reparations for damages caused by two wars, remove sanctions, and unconditionally release frozen and stolen Iranian assets.
